September 2004

Over the last two weeks the foundations for the Fermenting Room have been laid and the first layer of blocks built onto them.

The open slotted drains are currently being fixed into position in the Conditioning Room. The run from these will link through to the slotted drains in the Fermenting Room. Once these are in place the concrete floor will be poured in both rooms. After this is complete the fermenting vessels will need to be put in place before the walls of the Fermenting Room can be completed.

Over the weekend of 25/26 September a working party took place during which the toilet and mess room at the back of the brewery was re-decorated. Thanks to all those involved for coming and lending a hand.

Good progress is being made on the work inside the brewery.

The door into the back of the Conditioning Room has been completed. Compare with the photo on 25/08/04.

The walls of the Malt Loft, on the upper floor, have been concreted back up to full height and have now been painted. This makes the room so much brighter, as you can hopefully see!

The floor has been excavated ready to lay the foundations for the Fermenting Room.

Fresh hop bines have been hung in the front windows of the shop, already attracting a lot of interest.

Also today we took delivery of all the steel for vessel cladding and the Fermenting Room platform. So there's plenty to get on with next week!!
