The brewery now has a fully operational steam boiler providing steam to the heating coils in the hot liquor tank and the copper, and to the sterilisation line on the cask washer. Many thanks to Jim and Lou from Steam Boilers, Leicester, for the great effort they put in to get the job completed. Now we've got something to keep us warm next winter!

S&M Fabrications from Burton-on-Trent have installed new stainless steel pipework between the hot liquor tank and the brew tower. It is now possible to pump water to all the right places which marks a significant step forward.

Yesterday the last sections of the platform in the fermenting room were placed in position just leaving some work to be done on the steps.

The photos above show a cardboard template in position having been cut to fit around one of the fermenting vessels and a section of the platform with the curves cut out of it.

In a top secret marketing deal struck with the Ffestiniog Railway, today sees the launch of a brand new 'Purple Moose Brewery' advertising livery on one the railway's buffet cars. Inspired by similar advertising on the side of carriages on a steam narrow gauge railway in Germany the concept has been put together jointly by the FR and the Purple Moose Brewery.

It was decided to apply the livery to one of the railway's buffet cars as they will soon be carrying the brewery's ale, in bottled form, for sale to the public on board.

Having been kept strictly under wraps the carriage, no.103, was unveiled today and, as it travels the line to Blaenau Ffestiniog all summer, is hoped to bring attention to the new brewery in Porthmadog.
