THE NEWS ARCHIVES February 2007 27/02/07
This year's brew of Cwrw Dewi Da has now been delivered to many of our regular outlets across North Wales in readiness for St. David's Day on Thursday. At 4.5% ABV it is a flavoursome pale ale with a lovely citrus hop character in the finish. If you have not tried it before, track it down this time and celebrate St. David's Day in style. Dydd Dewi Sant Hapus!!!
This week also marks an important occasion for the Purple Moose Brewery. On Thursday our Cwrw Eryri / Snowdonia Ale will be judged in the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) National Beer Competition 2007. This follows our success in winning the West Regional competiton, as well as the 'Bitters' category, last August. The national competition is held as part of SIBA's annual conference and AGM, which this year will be in Leeds, and we are extremely proud even to have made it into a national beer competition less than two years after commencing brewing. Cwrw Eryri is one of 56 beers from across Britain battling for the top prize of SIBA National Champion Beer. Judging takes place on Thursday afternoon, with the results announced and awards presented on Friday afternoon. The Purple Moose is getting a little more nervous by the day!! Click here to see the full list of all 56 beers in the competition. 22/02/07 New larger versions of our pump clips have now been produced, and in the case of Snowdonia, Glaslyn and Dark Side of the Moose the clips have an additional top section showing the award which each beer has won. These new clips are gradually replacing previous versions in all of our regular pubs and will shortly be on view everywhere.
