THE NEWS ARCHIVES June 2007 14/06/07
Cnicht is our special ale for June and interest has been so great that we have already sold out! It has been sold far and wide across North Wales so make sure you look out for it over the next week or so. This is a 4.3% abv amber coloured best bitter combining subtle hints of lemon and pine with a floral, spicy finish. While Cnicht is named after one of Porthmadog's closest mountains the beer has a definite international flavour. We have used New Zealand's 'Green Bullet' bittering hops and the aroma comes from US Cascade hops. Today is the brewery's second anniversary and we are pleased to have marked the day with our second order for the Great British Beer Festival. Cwrw Madog and Cwrw Glaslyn will be representing Purple Moose Brewery in London this year at GBBF's first all Welsh bar. The event takes place from 7-11 August at Earl's Court. 01/06/07
Dark Side of the Moose has been at it again, picking up two awards at this year's Cambridge Beer Festival. Purple Moose's fabulous dark bitter won 'Beer of the Festival' as well as 'Best Beer Name of the Festival'. This was CAMRA's 34th Cambridge Beer Festival and the event is the third biggest beer festival in Britain, after Peterborough and the Great British Beer Festival. Dark Side of the Moose beat over 170 other
beers to be chosen as beer of the festival by festival-goers. Everyone
at Purple Moose Brewery is delighted at their latest success and
recognition for the dark side, which is the brewery owner's favourite
tipple. Dark Side of the Moose now has the most awards of all Purple
Moose's range of beers. These are: |
