AWARDS UPDATE

Following on from the brewery's great success at the SIBA Wales & West competition last month we now have two more awards to add to the list.

We have recently been informed that Dark Side of the Moose achieved Bronze in the Mild category at the CAMRA Macclesfield Beer Festival back in May.

More recently, Dark Side of the Moose has also picked up a 'Commended' award in bottle form at the True Taste Wales Food & Drink Awards. This now brings the total to 25 awards for our beer since we started in June 2005, which now seems a very long time ago!

Through September our special for the month, 'Moel-y-Gest', has been proving extremely popular. Those New Zealand hops have been doing their trick again! If you have not managed to try it so far then Llanbedr Beer Festival will be your last chance (see below).

This week we will once again be brewing our speciality Myrtle Stout which received a great response last year. It will be going out to pubs across North Wales for mid October onwards and will also be featured in the 'Festival of Real Ales' at Conwy Feast (see below).

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

The following events leading up to Christmas all feature Purple Moose beer. From beer festivals to food and drink festivals and Christmas fairs these are all great days out if you are in the area.

24-26 October 2008 - Conwy Feast - A food and drink festival encompassing the whole of the historic town of Conwy. Including the 'Festival of Real Ales' in its own marquee by the Liverpool Arms on the quayside. Here Purple Moose team up with Great Orme and Conwy Breweries to bring you 15 hand-pulled cask beers plus Welsh cider.

Festival of Real Ales opening times:
Friday 24th 18.00-23.00
Saturday 25th 12.00-23.00
Sunday 26th 12.00-18.00

The food festival is open all day Saturday and Sunday.

Last year, Gwledd Conwy Feast picked up a tourism Oscar at the National Tourism Awards for the 'Best Community Event in Wales'. This event is absolutely not to be missed!

7-9 November 2008 - Parc Glynllifon Craft & Food Fair, near Caernarfon - A great selection of local produce plus arts and crafts. Also a chance to see the stationary steam engine, restored by Fred Dibnah, in operation.
