FESTIVAL SPECIAL - 'BLACK HAND PORTER'

Today marks the launch of 'Black Hand Porter', our special beer for May, which has been commissioned as the Festival Special for the Welsh Highland Railway's annual 'Rail Ale Festival'. It has been named in recognition of the Black Hand Gang who have put so much into the rebuilding of the Welsh Highland Railway.

The railway's very popular beer festival gets under way in Dinas, near Caernarfon, at 11.30 today and runs through until 23.00. On Saturday the bar is open from 11.00-23.00 and on Sunday from 11.00-15.00. Click here for further details.

Black Hand Porter is a traditional smoked porter. Initial smokiness in the aroma gives way to chocolate and rich malt flavours with a slightly dry, bitter finish.

If you cannot make it to the Rail Ale Festival look out for Black Hand Porter in pubs across North Wales throughout the rest of May.
