SEASONAL ALES:

CWRW SANTES DWYNWEN / SAINT DWYNWEN'S ALE  ABV 4.1%

Available from mid January for St. Dwynwen's Day (25th January).
Cwrw Santes Dwynwen / Saint Dwynwen's Ale is a 4.1% abv. deep red coloured best bitter. For colour and a full body a blend of pale ale malt, dark crystal malt and a hint of roasted barley are used. A delicate mix of Pioneer and Goldings hops are added to the brew for bittering, with the aroma taken care of by the wonderful Polish Lubelski hops.

CALON LAN  ABV 4.0%

Calon Lân is our special brew for the Six Nations rugby tournament. At 4.0% abv it is an amber coloured best bitter with a pleasant fruity hop finish.

CWRW DEWI DA  ABV 4.5%

Our St. David's Day special, only available at the end of February. At 4.5% ABV it is a flavoursome pale ale with a lovely citrus hop character in the finish.

CWRW'R PASG / EASTER ALE  ABV 3.9%

Purple Moose's Easter special, only available at, errm, Easter! This is an easy drinking chestnut session bitter with a fruity hop finish.

BEDDGELERT  ABV 3.8%

Beddgelert is our brand new special ale brewed for 'Cwrw ar y Cledrau / Rail Ale Festival', the annual beer festival held on and around the Welsh Highland Railway. Beddgelert is a light and refreshing golden session bitter with a distinctive hoppy finish, at 3.8%.

The name of Beddgelert is taken from one of the engines which used to operate out of Dinas on the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways. The current Welsh Highland Railway development was rebuilt back through Beddgelert and beyond over the past year.

The 'Rail Ale Festival' will be held over the weekend 9-11 May 2008 in Dinas Goods Shed, near Caernarfon. For full details click here.

CNICHT  ABV 4.3%

Cnicht is our June special, full of international flavour with New Zealand and US hops. This is an amber coloured best bitter combining subtle hints of lemon and pine with a floral, spicy finish.

CADAIR IDRIS  ABV 3.9%

Our special beer for July is named Cadair Idris after the imposing mountain by Dolgellau which bears this name. Cadair Idris is a 3.9% abv ruby coloured bitter.

TRYFAN  ABV 4.8%

Tryfan is our special ale for August and is the penultimate beer in the summer 'Mountain Range'. At 4.8% abv Tryfan is a strong yet refreshing golden bitter with the distinctive bitterness of New Zealand's Green Bullet hops and a satisfying full flavour.

MOEL-Y-GEST  ABV 3.9%

September sees our final beer in the 'Mountain Range' with Moel-y-Gest, our nearest peak to the brewery, towering over Porthmadog itself. Moel-y-Gest is a light and pale bitter with a stunning combination of British and Continental hops producing a superb aroma and finish.

PURPLE MOOSE'S MYSTERIOUS MYRTLE STOUT  ABV 4.2%

Purple Moose's Mysterious Myrtle Stout, brewed in time for Halloween, comes at 4.2% abv. It is a slightly sweet stout brewed with bog myrtle and hops to give an unusual but refreshing finish.

TRAETH MAWR  ABV 3.8%

Our special brew for November / early December is 'Traeth Mawr'. The literal translation of the name being big beach, this is the name given to the estuary which stretches from Porthmadog to the foot of the Moelwyn mountains and Cnicht.

At 3.8% abv Traeth Mawr is an amber coloured refreshing session bitter with a satisfying fruity hop finish.

X-MŴS LLAWEN / MERRY X-MOOSE  ABV 5.0%

This fine ale is brewed only at Christmas using a careful selection of darker malts and aromatic hops to produce a full flavour and body, subtle bitterness and a rich ruby colour.
