Purple Moose Brewery is a member of SIBA - the Society of Independent Brewers. This trade association was set up by brewers for brewers to share trade information and to campaign on relevant issues in the brewing industry. SIBA helped bring about Progressive Beer Duty which effectively halved the amount of duty payable by small brewers.

WelcomeY Bragdy Mws Piws / The Purple Moose Brewery is a '40-Barrel' micro-brewery based in the historic harbour town of Porthmadog, North Wales, close to the mountains of Snowdonia. Brewing commenced on 14th June 2005 with a one-off special pale ale at 3.5% called "No.1".

We currently produce four standard beers in both cask conditioned and bottled formats. These are Cwrw Eryri / Snowdonia Ale (3.6%), Cwrw Madog / Madog's Ale (3.7%), Cwrw Glaslyn / Glaslyn Ale (4.2%) and Ochr Tywyll y Mws/ Dark Side of the Moose (4.6%).Seasonal specials are also available at certain times of the year. Come and visit North Wales and drink our beer while you're here. It's great, and so is North Wales! You will find that our brewery name, along with the names of our standard beers appear in both Welsh and English. The Welsh language is widely spoken in this corner of Wales and for many people it is their first language. If you are a visitor to the area you will see bilingual signs and hear people speaking their native language. Please respect this, it's quite normal and people are very friendly. Diolch yn fawr.
